Stop the Madness: Fox News on Chris Brown

YOU MAD?

Surprise, surprise. Yet another Fox News story where they completely take news out of context to push the network's agenda of pushing its conservative bias onto its consistently misinformed viewers.  After trying, and failing, to portray Common as a "vile rapper" and to serve Jon Stewart a nice, cold bowl of Got Ya Soup, Fox News is back at it again.

In no way, shape or form am I saying that I condone what Chris Brown did to Rihanna in 2009.  I can also say that I haven't been a fan of many of Chris Brown's decisions to escalate what should have been minuscule or nonexistent beefs on Twitter (Raz B, Tyler, The Creator & the rest of Odd Future, random non-fans) and of his choice of homophobic language when confronted.  However, I understand the intensity of the pressure that he must face everyday when he is still being criticized for something he is trying to grow from.

Chris Brown is an extremely talented recording artist, dancer and performer, who has a HUGE fan base and set records last Friday when he performed for NBC's Today Show.  Instead of being commended for his record-breaking performance, he was criticized and taken completely out of context by Fox News Host Laura Ingraham whose argument that Chris Brown is leading the movement to destroying the concept of morality for Generation Y.  While I agree with a few of the statements that the guest commentators made regarding the "in group/out group" phenomenon, I believe that she failed to prove her point.

I believe that everyone has a right to his/her opinion, but I don't believe that it is fair to present evidence and the argument in a biased matter so that others are not allowed to consider opposing ideas. My biggest issue is this: Chris Brown was convicted and served his sentence for his domestic abuse. Yes what he did was terrible and wrong, but it has been two years. What is he supposed to do now? Curl under a rock and never be seen by the public eye again?
