Philly bred musician ZAKEE has toured and worked with some of the greats--M.I.A., The Roots, Erykah Badu...-- and now the Howard University grad is proving himself as an individual artist with the recent release of his debut album Assimilations.
The idea behind standout single "Dope Girl" was to pay tribute to artists like Janis Joplin and Bob Dylan who have inspired ZAKEE while simultaneously relating to the fact that "every guy just wants something dope he can call his own."
