Most of the artists are relatively new, and are artists we were fans of online, or that we met through friends, that we had cultivated relationships through email, phone calls, and twitter, most of which we have become very close friends with.
Our only real objective for doing this mixtape was to have fun and be creative. There was really no agenda beyond good times with artists we love, and to create an enviorment where we could creatively be ourselves.
A few days ago, word spread that Sir Michael Rocks of the Cool Kids is officially signed to Curren$y's Jet Life label. Watch him discuss how the deal went down and talk about his journey so far as a solo artist.
I remember dancing to The Cool Kids' in my dorm my freshman year of college and getting caught by my roommate. 4 years later, I'm still loving their music, and "Summer Jam" is no exception.
